Tarapoto does not have a zoo, but it does have a magical place: The "URKU" animal rescue center will make your stay in the city of palm trees, a trip with a unique connection with the biodiversity of our Peruvian jungle; its hidden wildlife.

Itinerary:
We will go to the hotel to pick you up to enjoy a tour of the main streets of the city and the most representative places in the history of Tarapoto: Suchiche Park and the Plaza de Armas, until we reach the Orquídea chocolate factory. Then, we will visit an orchid garden where you will be able to appreciate different kinds of orchids which are characterized by their peculiar color, beauty and delicacy. Did you know that every minute up to 20 animals are illegally captured in Peru? As the final part of our tour, we will visit the installations of the URKU Animal Rescue Center, a place where wild animals are received to treat their injuries due to different abuses, and then reintroduce them into the jungle. They have to go through a readaptation process to return to the wild.

How do I make the reservation?

In case I am not in the range of the hotels so that they can pick me up?
The meeting point will be in the Plaza de Armas 10 minutes before departure time.
When is the best season to take this tour?
Best season to visit is from April to December, when the possibility of rain decreases.
