Discover Tacna, the southern city where patriotism begins, a space for historical events.
Itinerary:
Between 09:30 am - 10:00 am, we will pick you up from your respective hotel to start the tour. We will leave for the Parabolic Arch, a monument to Miguel Grau and Francisco Bolognesi. The second point that we will visit will be the Ornamental Pila de Tacna, a Greek neoclassical style fountain located in the main square. Then we will enter the Tacna Cathedral, under which the old Tacneño temple is located. The train station that connects Tacna and Arica will be the fourth point to visit, a historical space because it was by mutual agreement that communication between both regions be maintained. The last point to visit in the historic center will be the Bab ul Islam Mosque built by a group of Pakistani merchants, it is also the only one in Peru. At the end of the tour in the historic center, we will go to the Pocollay district, a place where the typical vineyards stand out and we will learn more about the production of wine and pisco. In one of the vineyards we can enjoy the tasting of different macerates from the region as well as traditional distillates. Then, we will go along the Valle Viejo route, where we will be able to appreciate country restaurants and hectares with fruit trees. We will continue the tour and we will go to the district of Calana, a place that stands out for the production of apricots and the annual apricot fair. Here we will be able to appreciate the classic Tacne dwellings known as the Mojinete houses. Upon arrival in Pachia, we will enjoy the traditional corn cake and a guided tour of the site museum, where we will observe a series of petroglyphs. Finally, after a short walk we will cross the suspension bridge of Miculla, a historic bridge that is currently one of the main attractions.
